Official Opening - TNL Freighting Nelson Depot

On Friday 2nd December, the new TNL Freighting Nelson Depot was officially opened by Nelson MP Nick Smith, in front of around 100 guests.  The depot is situated at 15 Artillery Place, off Lower Queen Street, Richmond, and brings together the head office, formerly at Port Nelson, and the Nelson freight depot, formerly in Tahunanui.  Local Mayor, Richard Kempthorne, was in attendance together with local customers, service providers, past employees and members of the Historic Transport Museum (Pigeon Valley road, Wakefield).  On display at the opening was the 1927 Transport Nelson Limited vintage truck, alongside the latest addition to the fleet, a brand new 2011 Western Star.   Jon Kyle, Chief Executive Officer, said he was proud of the way the new depot was performing.
